An easy way to prepare Rasam powder..
2 cups red chili
1 cup Toor dhal
1 and 1/2 cup coriander seeds(dhaniya)
1 tbsp pepper
1 tbsp cummin
Microwave all the above contents for 2 mins(or till you get the flavor)
Grind it.
Rasam powder ready.
For Rasam,
Prepare the tamarind extract (Take tamarind for the size of a lemon).
Add two spoons of the Rasam powder.
Add salt to taste. (Normally one tsp will be good).
Let it boil for 5 mins
Add one tomato(cut into pieces)
Let it boil for 10 mins.
(till the tomato becomes soft).
Addd cooked and mashed toor dhal and water as required.
Let it boil.
Add 3-4 Garlic.
Once it boils, add coriander and curry leaves. Rasam is ready.
For garnishing, splutter cumin seeds in 2 tsp ghee and pour it on the rasam.
Tasty Rasam ready. :-))
